Hiekelien started singing in her teens at theatre school, and filled many scraps of paper with lyrics in those years. She was hooked to louder guitars ever since she had bought the cassette (ah, analog nostalgia) of Metallica's Load and soon after discovered the more symphonic epics of Savatage and Blind Guardian.
While studying to be a professional writer at the Utrecht School of Arts, she kept on writing lyrics. She took private singing lessons and started looking for a band to add her texts and vocals to. In 2004 she was invited to do the lyrics and spoken word for an ambient project by the [law-rah] collective and has joined them in more projects and performances. Now Ametheon has crossed her path too and she hopes to conquer the stage with these guys.

Pim's musical career is intertwined with that of Ametheon. After playing in a hardcore metalband called Hard Suppository for 2 years, he started a coverband with a few student friends. This project didn't live long. Due to musical differences the band split up. That is how he met Wouter, Martijn, Ralph, Kenji and Hendrikje with whom he started Hard©opy, which later became known as AMETHEON. More and more time goes into the band and there is never any doubt in his mind. 7 years of Ametheon metal it is just plain fun.

Wouter became familiar with music at an early age, listening to the old Pink Floyd and Genesis records of his father. The first interest in heavy music came when at age 21 he discovered Metallica´s older albums (kill & ride). He picked up the guitar again, started practicing and soon met likeminded musicians to form a band. The songs he wrote for the band slowly evolved from heavy rock to melodic metal, and one fortunate night, staggering out of the local pub at closing time, he discovered he could produce some rather acceptable grunt vocals.

Started playing guitar at 15. Before Michiel started playing he only listened to shitty 90's music (2Unlimited and the like) but when he heard My Friend of Misery and Sad but True it changed his life! Before joining Ametheon he played in Souls of Symphony as lead/rhythm guitar and vocals.

Kenji learnt to play the piano when he was young. But after some years of playing classical arrangements he stopped. In university he met some fellow students who were looking for a keyboard player for their cover band Hardcopy.
After a few years they switched their name to Ametheon and started to compose their own music and play their own songs. In this way Kenji re-discovered metal as an interesting style.
